The Civil Guard has dismantled an organization on the Costa del Sol in an operation that adds 46 detainees and the intervention of 8,665 kilos of hashish , six semi-rigid boats and a real firearm . Those arrested are charged with the crimes of drug trafficking, belonging to a criminal organization and money laundering.
Although the Asgard operation has focused on the Costa del Sol, the great mobility of its structure has been evident with police actions in Cádiz, Almería, Murcia, Barcelona and Ceuta. One of the caches that they attribute to this group is the one that took place last July in broad daylight and in the presence of numerous bathers in the Benamara area, in Estepona.
Among those arrested , El Tapi stands out , a nickname by which an influential narco from Ceuta is known and that the Civil Guard considers one of the main prominent figures of the Narco- trafficking of the Strait for its ability to transport large quantities of hashish between the coasts of Morocco and Andalusia.
At 33 years of age , the Civil Guard has recognized that it was one of its main objectives and highlights the numerous pending cases it has accumulated for drug trafficking matters, “a fact that has given it great prestige within this type of organization.». Before his arrest, he was very elusive and even had several members of his organization who were in charge of providing security and cover.
From the beginning of the investigations, the agents verified that the organization had a great logistical capacity and a high and continuous criminal activity. To carry out their actions related to drug trafficking, they had a structure in the province of Almería to store and launch the boats that they later used to transport hashish between the two countries.
The researchers have located warehouses in industrial estates of Almería, Murcia and Barcelona that they used to guard and safeguard the vessels and the supply of fuel carafes.. Throughout the investigation, it has been possible to observe transfers of a large number of these vessels and movements that even extended to Portugal.
In parallel, under the direction of a Ceuta court, the Civil Guard has also investigated a money laundering structure from drug trafficking in which several of the detainees participated. In this phase, they had the support of the Asset Recovery and Management Office (ORGA) , whose role has been fundamental in locating assets on behalf of those investigated and others for which there are indications of having concealed their real ownership.
The investigations have discovered a laundered movable and real estate assets of an approximate value of 3 million euros. On the other hand, blocked movable and immovable property is valued at approximately 1,500,000 euros .
