Khloe Kardashian took to social media a few days back to promote a product. Ever since, she is being slammed online for blindly promoting a dangerous weight loss product as part of a paid partnership with Flat Tummy Co. Teas & Meal Replacement Shakes.
Wait, Hold up! Khloe Kardashian has always been dubbed as perhaps the most relatable character from the Kardashian clan. While her sisters were either born somewhat physically blessed or took other routes to achieve their aesthetic bodies, Khloe was fat shamed when she was overweight, and she allegedly lost all her weight in a healthy way, warranting her merit to be the host of the popular weight loss program “Revenge Body with Khloe Kardashian.”
So, Picture that. Picture Khloe following the right means to get in shape, supposedly. Picture Khloe understanding the struggle many women face as they are fat shamed, and body shamed. Picture Khloe mustering up the courage and motivation to stay dedicated to her body goal. And now, imagine Khloe conforming to paid partnerships, blindly promoting an unhealthy product just for the extra cash that it’s ringing in.
Does it make sense why she’s receiving all that heat from the internet over an under researched and unethically promoted product post? Khloe has been the ideal from the Kardashian clan that girls and women relate to (she’s the girl that keeps it real). Seeing this careless act from her has greatly upset her fans and she’s received due criticism for it online, rightly so too over such a massive blunder.
The comments on her post are full of people either expressing their disappointment, siding with bold actress Jameela Jamil, or trolling the topic because that’s just what the natural response is these days to risky online situations. The comments ranged from constructive advice, telling Khloe to promote some other natural means like gym instead of the Flat Tummy Co meal replacement shakes to straight out put downs like “don’t promote this crap, it’s called exercise and nutrition” and “please stop promoting this…we know it’s not how you got your amazing figure, it’s so damaging to young girls.”
Jameela Jamil spoke out on the issue, commenting the following on Khloe’s post:
If you’re too irresponsible to: a) own up to the fact that you have a personal trainer, nutritionist, probable chef, and a surgeon to achieve your aesthetic, rather than this laxative product … And b) tell them the side effects of this NON-FDA approved product, that most doctors are saying aren’t healthy. Side effects such as: Possible Flat Tummy Tea side effects are cramping, stomach pains, diarrhea and dehydration … Then I guess I have to. It’s incredibly awful that this industry bullied you until you became this fixated on your appearance, that’s the media’s fault. But now please don’t put that back into the world, and hurt other girls, the way you have been hurt. You’re a smart woman. Be smarter than this.”
This isn’t the first time Khloe’s gotten heat from Jameela Jamil. Earlier this year, the actress called out a post by Khloe which read: “2 Things a Girl Wants: 1) Lose Weight 2) Eat,” commenting in response: “Makes me sad. I hope my daughter grows up wanting more than this. I want more than this.”
This makes me sad. I hope my daughter grows up wanting more than this. I want more than this. Sending love to this poor woman. This industry did this to her. The media did it to her. They fat shamed her into a prison of self critique. Dear girls, WANT MORE THAN THIS. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/RFkb0GzxZY
