Kim Kardashian’s First Set Of Examinations To Become A Lawyer!

Kim Kardashian never ceases to surprise us, and her determination never ceases to overwhelm us either. After having taken up a few (in her opinion) wrongly sentenced prison cases, she worked with the justice department and paid a special visit to the Office of the President of the United States in Washington as well to ask Donald Trump especially to pardon one of the women she believed was wrongly suffering in jail for years. When news broke out last week of Vogue reporting that Kim Kardashian had spoken to them about working on becoming an attorney, I can’t say we’re surprised given her latest trajectory of passion, but we’re still surprised.

It’s been a while since she’s been on this journey and as per her individual study schedule, the first set of law school equivalent examinations have come to pass. These examinations are all benchmarks for her performance on the actual law school bar exam which will then earn her her license to practice law in the state where she takes up the license.

On choosing the path to becoming a lawyer, Kim Kardashian told Vogue:

I had to think long and hard about this. I just felt like I wanted to be able to fight for people who have paid their dues to society. I just felt like the system could be so different, and I wanted to fight to fix it, and if I knew more, I could do more.”

She went on to explain that she began a four-year apprenticeship with a San Francisco based law firm last summer. The ultimate goal of this was to prepare her to give the bar exam in 2022 and earn her license to officially practice the law.

Following all of these announcements and talks with Vogue, Kim Kardashian also took to Instagram to voice her dedication to this journey and emphasize how determined and committed she is to becoming a lawyer. She wrote:

Last year I registered with the California State Bar to study law. For the next 4 years, a minimum of 18 hours a week is required, I will take written and multiple choice tests monthly. As my first year is almost coming to an end I am preparing for the baby bar, a mini version of the bar, which is required when studying law this way.”

Kim Kardashian received some expected backlash from followers who claimed that it was her money and status that got her to this position and that its those two things that are going to give her bar, not earn it. Several others posted discouraging comment as well, urging the star to stick to what she knows only and mind her own business.

One person actually said I should ‘stay in my lane.’ I want people to understand that there is nothing that should limit your pursuit of your dreams, and the accomplishment of new goals. You can create your own lanes, just as I am. The state bar doesn’t care who you are. Everyone can take this route if you live in a state where this is allowed.”

This all comes as rather surprising, especially acknowledging the fact that Kim Kardashian did not finish college. She is nevertheless working diligently to prepare herself to pass the bar exam. She says that whoever thinks what she’s doing is easy or handed to her is completely wrong.

My weekends are spent away from my kids while I read and study. I work all day, put my kids to bed and spend my nights studying. There are times I feel overwhelmed and when I feel like I can’t do it but I get the pep talks I need from the people around me supporting me. I changed my number last year and disconnected from everyone because I have made this strict commitment to follow a dream of mine—It’s never too late to follow your dreams.”

She closed her remarks by adding,

I want to thank Van Jones for believing in me and introducing me to Jessica Jackson. Jessica along with Erin Haney have taken on the role of my mentors and I am forever grateful to them both putting in so much time with me, believing in me and supporting me through this journey. This week I have a big torts essay due on negligence. Wish me luck.”

Last year I registered with the California State Bar to study law. For the next 4 years, a minimum of 18 hours a week is required, I will take written and multiple choice tests monthly. As my first year is almost coming to an end I am preparing for the baby bar, a mini version of the bar, which is required when studying law this way. I’ve seen some comments from people who are saying it’s my privilege or my money that got me here, but that’s not the case. One person actually said I should “stay in my lane.” I want people to understand that there is nothing that should limit your pursuit of your dreams, and the accomplishment of new goals. You can create your own lanes, just as I am. The state bar doesn’t care who you are. This option is available to anyone who’s state allows it. It’s true I did not finish college. You need 60 college credits (I had 75) to take part in “reading the law”, which is an in office law school being apprenticed by lawyers. For anyone assuming this is the easy way out, it’s not. My weekends are spent away from my kids while I read and study. I work all day, put my kids to bed and spend my nights studying.
