Many people believe the rainbow stripes were to show her support for the LGBT community and celebrate pride. Samantha Adams tweeted, “Good to see Melania Trump wearing her gay pride dress today. We are reminded that some people are still fighting for liberty”. Regardless, whatever the motive behind her outfit was, she certainly took people’s breath away.

The first lady later posted pictures from the event on twitter, saying, “A beautiful tribute to our Nation and the American spirit tonight. We honor and celebrate our cherished history and all those who served and sacrificed so much for the freedoms we have today. God Bless our great military and God Bless the United States”.
