In February 2019, rumors spread that The CW network was having discussions about renewing the beloved series, but no official statement was released. Most of the cast members were reported to be on board with the reboot if all goes well. Chace Crawford told Digital Spy- network catering to TV, movies and entertainment news, that he could see Gossip Girl coming back as a miniseries.

He said, “I don’t know what it would look like with us being in our 30s now, but I always say, because it was such a big part of my life, I’m open to anything. It would have to be really right, and really specific, and with TV and the golden age of the TV streaming service, maybe an eight-episode season.”

Recently, HBO Max announced that it had ordered a 10-episode series – a continuation of Gossip Girl. It will be set eight years after the previous show and will feature a new generation of private school kids, along with the changes that took place in New York City. No news about the caste has been released yet.

Needless to say, fans are super excited. Let’s hope the miniseries is as good as the original one!
