Kylie Jenner recently announced her latest collaboration with Balmain, a high-end French fashion brand, for a makeup line.
She announced the news on Instagram, posing next to Balmain creative designer, Olivier Rousteing, in a shiny silver coat. The beauty mogul sported faint pink and purple eye shadow and a large metallic belt, as Rousteing held her waist from behind. She wrote, “Paris is always a good idea 🇫🇷 surprise. KYLIE X BALMAIN @kyliecosmetics collection launching this Friday 9.27”.
The KYLIE x BALMAIN beauty collection is set to launch on 27th September, during the Paris Fashion Week, where she’ll serve as the ‘artistic director of makeup’ for Balmain’s show.
The idea of a collaboration sprung up last year when the duo decided to create a collection exclusively for the designer’s PFW show. According to Kylie, “The collection that we created is full of really beautiful shades that can be mixed and matched to create everything from bold, runway-style looks, to soft and pretty glam. The collection is the perfect blend of our personalities and visions, with one goal at the heart of it: to make everyone who wears it feel confident, beautiful and authentically themselves!”
According to several reports, the collection was inspired by the pastel pink jumpsuit by Balmain – that the model wore to the Grammy Awards this year.
The range will follow a pink theme and will include:
- Kyshadow palette featuring orange, mint green, bubblegum pink and silver shades – $42
- High Gloss – $16
- Kylie Matte Lip Kit in soft pink – $29
The line is also expected to include “accessories incorporating makeup”, such as bracelets and belts that’ll have eyeshadow compacts and knuckle dusters that’ll contain lip gloss.
The KylieSkin CEO will arrive in Paris on Wednesday to help in the show preparations and will be present backstage for some final touch ups. According to Rousteing, “She wanted to know when the first makeup artist will be arriving backstage, so she’s going to be there at 7:30 a.m. to be the first to work on all the models. There’s a definite look for the show, but within that, each girl will have different makeup depending on their skin tone and the clothes they’ll be wearing.”
The Jenners have had a long term relationship with the brand – sporting its clothing at the Met Gala and many other occasions. Kendall Jenner is also a staple model on the Balmain runway and in campaigns for the last five years. However, this is the first time their cosmetic brand has participated in a fashion show.
Kylie Cosmetics have had a fair share of high-fashion partnerships. She has previously launched collaborations with her sisters, Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian, and her ex best friend, Jordyn Woods. The model also named one of her collection “Stormiworld” after her daughter, Stormi Webster.
The whole collection will be available for sale on kyliecosmetics.com this Friday at 8 am, for $75.
